We just could not part with some of our babies, and still can't. Here are our "boys" that we show, drive, trail ride, and much to their chagrin, use as colt babysitters. They are priceless to us here at MHS.
We have chosen to retain a few of our cobs for our personal enjoyment and because we just can’t bear to be parted from them, truth be told. You know how it is! We have been blessed with very talented and personable geldings that love the trails and the show ring. (See show results for info.)
Mynydd Hir Starbucks
Starbucks is Megastar's first offspring with Trefaes Belladonna, and has been nothing short of fabulous. He loves to be ridden, driven, shown in hand, and jumped. His "never quit" work ethic makes him a blast to be around. We believe that he is a wonderful example of true Welsh type, with a lovely pony head, tiny lively ears, and huge liquid, expressive, kind eyes. He has a very correct "big round bouncy ball" body, and all the movement you could ever desire, with height, reach, and suspension. We love Starbucks, and so do the spectators and judges!
He has won both of the Ridden Welsh Classic championships in which he has been shown at the WPCSA American Nationals. He was Supreme Champion Gelding at the 2009 and 2014 WPCSA American National Shows and was Grand Champion in the 2014 English Pleasure Division at the 2014 American National, also. He is being driven again, hopefully to compete next year in Pleasure Driving.
Mynydd Hir Starburst
Starburst is Megastar's and Belladonna's 3rd offspring together, and we are delighted with him. He is Todd's favorite trail horse and is broke to drive also. He has wonderful movement and, like his brother, Starbucks, has it all in the "looks" department. Starburst had one foal, a black filly that looks just like him, but as we were not actively breeding at the time, we chose to geld him and keep him for our personal enjoyment. Okay, everyone in unison...Dumb move! Except for those "slap yourself upside the head moments", we are glad he is here, gelded or not!
Lil' Timbers Tazza
Taz is a registered paint gelding we got for trail riding. He has an even more important job at the ranch, and that is "colt sitter". He loves the young stud colts as his own, and when they are in the stalls, he is up against the door with his eyeball peeking through literally "keeping an eye on them". He is a gem and so patient. He somehow got himself roped into being a dressage and hunter horse, and is, once again, a gem. Thanks again to Tommy and Shannon Eubanks!
Tofri is our Icelandic Horse and is such a wonderful guy. He is dependable, loving, and best of all, is a great colt sitter. He loves the little boys, and takes care of them well.
